More often than not historians are concerned with documenting and presenting the lives of the great and the good. We must not overlook the lives and achievements of ordinary local men and women. Stanley Phillips photographed and filmed a number of events, which may have appeared ordinary at the time. It is only with hindsight that we see this unassuming man’s work has extraordinary value. Stanley Phillips has left a legacy rich in content, which deserves some public acknowledgement.
